Peter Sherwen, MB.BS
Senior Palliative Medicine Consultant
Caritas Christi Hospice (St Vincent's Health), Melbourne, Australia
Dr. Peter Sherwen worked for 15 years in General Practice (Family Medicine) and developed a strong interest in Palliative Medicine.
Since 1999, he has worked at Caritas Christi Hospice in Melbourne where he is now the lead clinician in their inpatient unit. He is also the doctor for Eastern Palliative Care, a community palliative care service that operates from Caritas Christi Hospice.
Since 2001, Peter has also worked at Epworth Hospital, a 500 bed private hospital that offers a wide range of medical services. At Epworth, he leads a Palliative Care consult service and provides medical education.
In each of these roles, Dr. Sherwen is involved in direct patient care as well as education activities for medical students, junior doctors, nursing staff and general practitioners.
