Ms. Salau has been a palliative care clinical nurse specialist for more than sixteen years. She has established three palliative care services while becoming the leading voice for palliative care volunteerism in Australia.

Sue was recently awarded a Churchill Fellowship to explore international palliative care volunteer models and best practice. The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust in Australia allowed Sue to travel abroad to learn from the best clinicians, educators and researchers; bringing home the different ideas to Australia.

Ms. Salau is currently the Policy Manager with Palliative Care Victoria (the peak palliative care body in the state of Victoria, Australia). She has instigated a state wide palliative care volunteer strategy and is now beginning to develop a national palliative care volunteer strategy with Palliative Care Australia.
